RUN Hostile Territory Part 1
A HHN/L4D short story

"Report unusual behavior, barricade your homes, avoid all contact with infected individuals, and wait for further instructions… Wait my ass!" We go to a group of four individuals who are apparently survivors of a huge infection in their area that turned the citizens of Shadow Creek into zombies. The individuals included a former film producer, an insane asylum patient, a renegade rocker, and a chainsaw wielding maniac with a metal mask that is bolted onto his face. The film producer is a man by the name of Seth. Seth used to work for Paulo Ravinski a.k.a. The Director, but was cut from the team due to his lack of resources. The rebel rocker was a man by the name of Tommy. Tommy was a member of the Dark Knights and played bass guitar. The patient from Shadybrook Asylum was a girl by the name of Melfina. Mel got admitted to the asylum in 2006 and meet up with Jack the clown and was able to bust out of the asylum in 2007 to get to Shadow Creek. The final member of this band was a man by the name of Eddie Schmidt. Eddie was Jack's younger brother whose face was disfigured in a trailer park fire and had an obsession with '70's and '80's slasher flicks which led him to forming his gang and build his attraction called "Run". The team at a service station in Shadow Creek where they meet up a few days after the infection occurred in their town.

"So, what do we do know about this 'infection'?" Seth asked Tommy. "Not much about it to tell you Seth got my band mates darn good." Tommy replied back. "We need to get to the mall in the city, what's best route to get there Eddie?" Tommy asked. "Usually I'm the one killing people, not helping them out of hostile territory. In this case it's an exception due to the four of us being the only uninfected people in this god forsaken town." Eddie answered back. "The best route to get to the mall is to head down 46th Street and take a right on Hewitt Ave. to get to the mall, trouble is that they've blocked the road to get to the mall." Eddie continued. "You mind if I take this Eddie?" Mel asked while wielding a shotgun. "Did you read the zombie survival guide? If so, you need to shoot them in the head my little friend." Eddie replied back to Mel. "By the way, did you find a good pair of pants here in this gas station? The sight of you in just a patient gown is a bit unnecessary at this point." Tommy asked Mel. "I've been hiding in a warehouse for the past three years, what was I supposed to bring with me?" Mel asked back. "Now's not the time; we've got zombies to exterminate!" Seth said to the group. "Three simple rules: Run, Don't Look Back, and Kill Anything in Sight." Eddie said which gave Mel a confused look. "In layman's terms: Kill all sons of bitches. That's the official instructions." Tommy told Mel.

The team was well armed to rob a bank; but they were out to save their skins from the infected in Shadow Creek. Eddie revved up his chainsaw, Seth branded a machete, Tommy had SCAR-H in his hands, and Mel had a shotgun ready for the kill. "Ready…Set…RUN!" Eddie yelled to the team. Tommy kicked the door down as a zombie looked at him in the face and the insanity began.
